Heartcode BLS (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers) Online/Blended Course (AHA)
Need more flexibility?
You may take the bulk of your blended BLS course on-line through the American Heart Association and then complete a skills Competency Check in-person at the Center for Healthcare Education and Simulation (CHES).
To do this for Basic Life Support (BLS) which is required for most healthcare providers (nurses, doctors, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, nursing students, etc):
- Go to the web-site: https://elearning.heart.org/ and under "Courses" select "BLS - Basic Life Support" and then "HeartCode BLS". This online course takes approximately 2 hours and the cost is $28.50.
- Print your certificate of completion of the online portion of the course.
- Register for a skills Competency Check (see dates below) or call CHES, 227-2292 ext 1, and state "I completed BLS Heartcode online and need to schedule my BLS skills Competency Check". The cost of the check-off is $40 and you will need to bring your certificate of completion of the online portion of the course to CHES.
- Your skills check-off will take up to 1 hour and is completed at CHES.
