Basic Life Support (BLS) (classroom) with First Aid (hands-on session only)
This is a blended course where you will take your First Aid partially online and BLS entirely in person. Please read the below schedule and instructions carefully and contact CHES with questions. If you only need First Aid or only need BLS contact CHES and we can help arrange this for you.
8:00am-9:00am - First Aid (AHA) Hands-on skills Practice and Test:
Prior to arriving at CHES you must have completed the First Aid on-line portion through the American Heart Assocation and bring your certificate of completion to CHES. To do this, go to: https://elearning.heart.org/course/7 and complete "Heartsaver First Aid Online". This is a 3.5 hr course on-line and the cost is $20. You must print out the completion certificate and bring it to CHES in order to participate in the hands-on skills session. After successful skills demonstration you will receive your First Aid Certification card.
9:00am - 1:30pm - Basic Life Support (AHA): The BLS portion of the class will be from 9:00am - 1:30pm. This will be entirely in the classroom with a 30 minute lunch break (please bring a lunch). In this classroom-based course, you will learn to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR to victims of all ages, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. Course includes classroom instruction, American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS book, and BLS Certification eCard.
