Basic Life Support (Classroom) with First Aid (Online/Skills Checkoff) (AHA)
This is a blended course where you will take your BLS entirely in person and your First Aid partially online (you will need to complete the online portion ahead of the scheduled class). Please read the below schedule and instructions carefully and contact CHES with questions. If you only need First Aid or only need BLS contact CHES and we can help arrange this for you.
9:00am - 1:45pm - Basic Life Support (AHA): The BLS portion of the class will be from 9:00 am to 1:45 pm. This will be entirely in the classroom with one 15 min break. In this classroom-based course, you will learn to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR to victims of all ages, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. Course includes classroom instruction, American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS book, and BLS Certification eCard.
1:45pm-2:30pm - First Aid (AHA) Skills Practice and Demonstration:
Prior to arriving at CHES you must have completed the First Aid on-line portion through the American Heart Assocation and bring your certificate of completion to CHES. To do this, go to the web-site: https://elearning.heart.org/course/7 and purchase the course (course #15-402). This is a 3.5 hr course on-line and the cost is $20. You must print out the completion certificate and bring it to CHES in order to participate in the skills practice and demonstration. After successful skills demonstration you will receive your First Aid Certification eCard.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose.
